Speaker Bios

COMPLIANCE TRENDS:

Chris Tompson, Director, Compliance Investigations, Johnson & Johnson Health Care Compliance & Privacy

Chris is the Director of Compliance Investigations with Johnson & Johnson Health Care Compliance & Privacy and is based in New Brunswick, NJ.

Prior to this role, Chris was Vice President, Health Care Compliance, MD&D Sector, in the MD&D Sector Office of Compliance. Before joining the Office of Compliance he was Vice President, Quality & Compliance at Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems Inc. At JJHCS, Chris was instrumental in the development and implementation of an enterprise-wide Compliance Program with emphasis on Health Care Compliance, Government Contract Compliance, SOX Testing & Monitoring, Quality Systems, HIPAA/Privacy, and International Distribution.

Chris began his career with the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies in 1991 with Janssen Pharmaceutica Inc. as a Hospital Specialty Representative. Since then, he has moved through positions of increasing responsibility positions within Sales & Marketing, including Product Director for RISPERDAL® (risperidone) and Region Business Director. He was also Director, Commercial Compliance, JOM Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. where he was responsible for Commercial Compliance at Janssen and HCC Policy development and implementation at both Janssen Pharmaceutica Inc. and Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Chris also served as the Executive Director, Worldwide Health Care Compliance, Consumer Group and Corporate, where he developed strategies, systems, and processes.

Prior to joining Janssen Pharmaceutica Inc., Chris was on active duty with the United States Army, serving in Europe, Central America, and Asia. Chris is a graduate of Texas A&M University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. He and his wife Lisa have three children and reside in Bucks County, PA.

COMPLIANCE AS PART OF BUSINESS CULTURE:

Eric Bottelier, North America Corporate Compliance, Sanofi

Eric has developed and is currently implementing a global FCPA & supplier on-boarding strategy in collaboration with Compliance, Legal, IS Finance, Procurement, Transparency and Diversity teams.  He has also developed and is implementing a 5-year training strategy & technology implementation for Sanofi NA Group.

Eric spent his career on the commercial side of the business serving in roles including Sales Director, Business Analytics, Marketing, Sales Force Planning & Effectiveness, Alliance & CSO Management, Sales & Marketing Operations and Account Team Leadership. He then moved into Compliance two years ago where he has brought his commercial thinking to a compliance role.

Prior to joining Sanofi, Eric served in various levels of sales positions with Searle / Pharmacia / Pfizer.  Eric holds a B.S. in Education from George Mason University and participated in the Executive Scholars Program at Kellogg.  He is a spokesperson for the American Red Cross and has served as the Head Coach for G.M.U. Women’s Varsity Crew Team.

 

Patrick Hogenbirk, Director Worldwide Health Care Compliance Education and Communication, Johnson & Johnson, Health Care Compliance and Privacy.

Patrick is Director of Health Care Compliance Education and Communication for Johnson & Johnson and is based in Cincinnati, OH. 

Patrick has extensive experience in compliance training including working with Corporate Integrity Agreement and Deferred Prosecution Agreement requirements.  Patrick currently focuses on supporting the Global Medical Device & Diagnostics businesses.  He also manages the training team supporting the DePuy Synthes Corporate Integrity Agreement. 

Prior to Johnson & Johnson, Patrick was the Director of Ethics Compliance Education for Cardinal Health and also held various training roles for Ashland Inc., Skillsoft/Mindleaders and CompuServe.

Patrick was active duty Air Force and served in bases throughout the world as a firefighter, Fire Training Chief, Fire Chief and as an auditor for the AF Inspector General, before he retired from the Air Force Reserve in January 2008.

Patrick is a graduate of Park University with a Bachelor of Business Management degree.  He has also attended the Seton Hall Health Care Compliance Certification and he’s a Certified Compliance Ethics Professional with the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics.  He currently lives in Cincinnati OH with his wife and 3 children.
